A Message from the Mayor

Thank you for your interest in Sarepta, a town on the move. While proud of its past, the Town of Sarepta is moving rapidly into the future.

Since 2022, our little town has had a population of 777. We are now considered a village, but the LMA board doesn’t do anything to us if we don’t drop down. It does make a difference in the grants we receive. For instance, the LGAP was usually $36k and this year we only received $21k.

We were home to the Sarepta Hornets until the year 2011, when our school was consolidated with three other schools and became the home of the North Webster Junior High Chargers.

Sarepta has a Dollar General Store, Andrews Short Stop for gas and quick eats, and Deloney’s Auto Body and Paint Shop. We have four churches in town, New Sarepta Baptist Church, Old Sarepta Baptist Church, Midway Baptist Church and Sarepta Church of Christ.

Sarepta is the home town of Trace Adkins, a well known country singer. Sarepta is a well established and viable community. We welcome new businesses and are excited with all of the great activities and plans for the future.

Sarepta’s greatest asset is its people who are warm, kind and willing to help a neighbor at all times. We ask you to visit our friendly town and make yourself at home. We are glad it’s our home.

I have been Mayor since November 2013, when E.L. Edwards passed and I have served for eight years. I am honored to be the Mayor and I don’t know what the future will bring.

Being Mayor is a learning process. I’ve learned a lot and am still learning. I have a great Board and Staff to work with. With all of us working together, we have made our town a great place to live.
